Market Overview

• In the ‘12th Five Year plan’, China will build 3.4 million beds for rehabilitation and by 2015 the national basic silver service system will be built to insure 215 million elderly people will enjoy improved service.

• There are 177 million people over 60, of whom 30 million suffer from senile dementia. There will be huge demand for rehabilitation and nursing services and management staff in particular. 

• A focus of the ‘12th Five Year plan’ is the ‘Rehabilitation Project’ for disabled people which includes implementing rehabilitation of cataract surgery and psychosis in China. The plan will provide five million assistive devices for free and help 13 million disabled people with essential rehabilitation services.
